Dr. Ali Roula has been awarded a Welsh crucible grant to collaborate with researchers from Cardiff university’s school of psychology on using computer vision for autism research.
The grant of a value of £7351 was awarded as a competitive process opened to participants of the Welsh Crucible 2013. The project untitled “Social communication in autism spectrum disorder: The role of synchrony explored using computer pattern matching” will look at using computer vision techniques to quantify and, test hypothesis about, various elements of social interaction in autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Roula’s role will focus on the computer vision and pattern recognition aspects of the project.
